About The Teachers

imageAbout Miss Jen

Jen Ruel Lang was born and raised in Lyman. She has wanted to be a teacher since her childhood. Jen is married to Rob, who is her business partner. He runs the business end and she fulfills her dream of teaching. They have two daughters, Kassidy and Kellsie, who are the joy of their lives. Jen graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Maine at Orono. She also holds a Maine state teacher certification. She continues to take courses and trainings to continue her growth and keep current with the ever-changing world of education.
After graduation, Jen was the head teacher in a special education preschool program for children with speech and language delay, Pervasive Development Disorder etc. In this setting she worked with occupational therapist, physical therapists, and speech pathologists. Jen was able to gain vast knowledge and training on working with children with special needs and adapting activities. Jen and Rob opened Bear Hugs Preschool in September of 1999. In her spare time, Jen enjoys playing the guitar, scrapbooking, swimming and camping.

Sandy lives in Lyman with her husband and two children (both Bear Hugs Graduates).  She graduated from University of New England with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  She has worked in elementary schools as an Educational Technician and as a substitute teacher.  Miss Sandy has been  a valuable part of the Bear Hugs team since 2013.  
She enjoys reading, baking and camping in her spare time.  She also enjoys spending time on her family’s Christmas Tree Farm and at their soon to be ice cream shop.
 

Miss Meegan,image

 Our In-School Speech Therapist

Meegan graduated from the University of Maine, Orono with a Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  She has been a speech therapist for preschool aged children since 2003. Meegan has two boys, Gabe and Landon that keep her very busy.   They love all sports and outdoor activities.
 
Fun Fact: Miss Meegan’s boys are also Bear Hugs Graduates.
